Dave Carter
For more then fifteen years, Dave has been competing in road races, trail races and triathlons. Dave was a competitive collegiate runner at the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., where he experienced the many benefits of a well-designed strengthening and conditioning program. Those valuable lessons prompted Dave to begin designing running programs for others. Eventually, Dave became a certified Personal Trainer with NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine).
Dave strives to create programs that train novices as well as competitive runners , and other athletes, for the duration, by following proper progressions and emphasizing basic human movement patterns. By focusing on movements first and exercises second, his methods can help to eliminate the weak links in the chain, which allows each individual to maximize their training.
Dave emphasizes that all of the qualities typically associated with other athletes, such as speed, power, endurance and strength, are equally valuable for runners. All of those qualities are necessary components of a well rounded conditioning program for individuals of all ability levels, and targeting each area keeps training interesting and productive.
Whether one is an athlete looking to improve performance, or a beginner looking for a place to start, Dave's enthusiasm and well-balanced approach will enable participants to maximize their potential and achieve their fitness goals.
